Chapter I

KNOW GOD ALWAYS SPEAKS TO INDIVIDUALS

There are certain factors involved in moving with God. Abraham is one man who learned how to do this.

To be a man or woman who will move with God

totally, you must cease playing religion, quit piddling around with the things of the world, and realize that God always speaks to individuals. God spoke to Abraham, and He still speaks to individuals today. Many say, “Well, I know that God speaks to other individuals, but He never speaks to me.”

Don’t you know that God is no respector of persons? He loves you just as much as He loves me or anyone else. Why don’t you start confessing that God loves you, that you are special to God, and that He will speak to

you personally?

How does God speak? He speaks mainly through His Word. He also speaks by the Spirit. He will lead and guide you and let you know that He has truly called you. God spoke to Adam, Abraham, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Elijah, Malachi, Nehemiah, Peter, Paul, James and John. God has not stopped speaking. The world and the church may tell you that God doesn’t speak anymore, but God’s Word says He does. The Word of God says that

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever, so if He is the same, that means He is speaking as clearly and loudly today as He did long ago. God is calling forth a people and building a mighty army, but only those who know He speaks can join, otherwise you will not hear the call.

God isn’t dead, He’s alive. Most of the religious world today says, “God

once did this and God once did that.” THE PAST IS GONE. We need to live TODAY. We need to realize that God is speaking to us TODAY. TODAY is the day of salvation. TODAY is the day that God is preparing men and women to do the mighty work of Jesus. John 14:12 is for us today.

God speaks to

individuals. You should confess everyday: “God speaks to me, God loves me, God talks to me.” Dear reader, God speaks to me, so surely He will speak to you too.

Chapter II

KNOW GOD REVEALS HIMSELF A DAY AT A TIME

Another important thought to remember is that

God reveals Himself a day at a time. God told Abraham, “I will show you the land you are going to.” He didn’t draw out the whole map of Abraham’s life; neither will He do it for you. That would not have been faith. It would have been fact. God wants you to realize He will show you the path of life a day at a time. He may not reveal something for you to do until 9:01 and you will have to do it at 9:02, but if you’re sincere about wanting to move with God, He will direct you. In Psalm 32:8 we read, “I will instruct thee. I will guide thee,” and in Isaiah 58:11, “I will continually guide thee.”

He says in Jeremiah 10:23,

“O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.” You can’t give me directions to get somewhere if you have never been there; therefore, since no man has been in tomorrow, no man can give you or me directions about tomorrow. Only God knows what tomorrow holds and He tells us, “I will guide you! I will instruct you! I will be with you continually!”

God will teach you this. I don’t know what today holds, I don’t know what the next hour holds; I don’t know the circumstances; I don’t know the situations. No one can give me guidance about today or tomorrow except God because no one knows what is going to happen. You have your plans, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen that way.

Always remember that God does reveal His Will and that He guides His people. We are

His people, He is our Father and He will reveal His will to you. He will instruct you, He will guide you. He says, “I will reveal it to you” (John 16:13.)

Christian friend, you must learn to look to God to guide you and to reveal His will to you, because if God doesn’t do it, who will? Jeremiah 10:23 says that it’s not in man that liveth or not in man that walketh to mark his own pathway. How can you mark a pathway for the future when you don’t know what it holds? Stop trying to figure your future out. Realize today that God will speak to you and that God reveals Himself a day at a time. Trust God to do for you what He says.

Every morning before I get out of bed, I say, “Father, I John 5:14 says,

‘And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us,’ and God, I have many Scriptures that say it’s Your will to instruct me, teach me, and guide me. God, I don’t know what this day holds, so Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask You to guide me this day and right now I receive it by faith.” He says in this Scripture passage that I can have confidence in Him to guide me. Glory, hallelujah! Praise God!

I don’t know what tomorrow holds. I don’t know what I’m going to do, and praise God I don’t, because if I knew what He was going to tell me to do, my mind probably could not handle it! Don’t be so worried about tomorrow, for if you’re not careful you will be hindered from receiving today’s blessing by overconcern for tomorrow.

Most Christians spend so much time plotting and planning for tomorrow until God can’t bless them today. You cannot get blessed tomorrow for today! If you’re going to get a blessing today, you will get it

today. I’m going to get mine this day! This is the day that the Lord hath made! This is the day that I rejoice and I’m glad in it. This is the day that He hath made. This is the day that He that is in me is greater than He that is in the world. This is the day that I’m more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus. This is the day! Remember, God reveals Himself one day at a time.

Chapter III

KNOW GOD REQUIRES CONTINUOUS SEPARATION

Usually, people think they will have to give up their home, their car, their money, or job. This isn’t necessarily what God wants for you. Sure, in certain situations He may tell you to do this, but what He really desires is for you to continually separate yourself from the concepts of the world that contradict God’s Word. You need to continually “separate yourself from sin and weights that so easily beset” (Heb. 12:1).

“What sins,” you say? What about ANGER; RESENTMENT; REBELLION; HURT; LYING; CHEATING;

you need to separate yourself from anything that is not of God. This is the continuous separation that is necessary. Don’t stop doing these things and God will not be able to use you in the mighty ways that He desires to. He will bless you. But you will hinder Him from using and blessing you abundantly the way He desires to. Continuous separation is required. The Holy Spirit will pinpoint the areas for you personally.

Do you know that pride keeps people from worshipping God? If you’re not free to raise your hands and praise God, pride has come into your heart. It’s

religious pride, but it’s still pride. The Bible says that pride comes before the fall. Are you filled with pride today? Then you are on your way to a fall. The devil has set you up already, next, comes the fall. God says that humility comes before honor.

“Brother Willis, are

you a humble man?” I am very humble because I know who my Blesser is. I know where my health comes from, I know who puts the clothes upon my back and the shoes on my feet, I know who gave me the food in my cupboard, the roof over my head, and the car that I’m driving. The important thing is that I’m not ashamed, to tell anyone that God blesses me so abundantly and gives me the best.

Make up your mind TODAY that those same old problems and troubles that have been hanging around so long, are going to leave. Separate yourself from them. YOU do it. James 4:7 says,

“Submit yourself to God. Resist the devil (sin) and He will flee from you.” He has given you the power (Luke 10:19).

Are you having some of the same problems now as you did years ago? Do you get angry now as you did year ago? Do you get fearful now like you did a year ago? How about disappointment, frustration, and confusion? Dear reader, separate yourselves from those things and come on into the glory of the Almighty God. These seemingly small sins are true

weights. They are holding you down and they will keep you in bondage. II Timothy 1:7 reads, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Paul says, “I press on toward that mark.” He said to move on toward the things of God and quit letting the devil bind you up. Exercise your God given power and authority.

As I said before, God isn’t asking you to give up your home, your car, or your job. He won’t ask you to give up those things until you can give up the little things. You don’t need to be worrying about having to leave your job. He’s not about to ask you to leave your job when you can’t even quit getting angry or worrying.

This book is for those who are going on with God. I thank God for the Charismatic move of God, but being Charismatic doesn’t mean you’re going on with God. I thank God for the Holy Spirit, but that doesn’t mean you’re going on with God. It gives you the equipment — the power — but you are going to have to separate yourself from the things I’ve mentioned.

Chapter IV

KNOW TO DRAW STRENGTH FROM GOD’S PROMISES

Any man or woman who chooses to go on with God DRAWS STRENGTH FROM GOD’S PROMISES. In Genesis 12:2-3, God said that He would make Abraham a great nation and a blessing. If you do not learn to draw strength from God’s promises, the devil will see to it that you become defeated. He will bring so much pressure against you until you won’t want to go on (Heb. 12:3 says,

“Be wearied and faint in your minds.”)

When pressures and storms come against me, I draw strength from God’s Word. I draw strength from that, because the Word of God is power, and when you believe it, strength will automatically come.

Romans 8:37 says,

“We are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” I draw strength from that.

When it looks like I’m going to be defeated — when it looks as if there’s no way out — I just remember verses such as:

“I can do all things through Christ Jesus,” (Phil. 4:12).

“He always causes me to triumph in Christ,” (II Corinthians 2:14).

“God’s love is shed abroad in my heart” (Romans 5:5).

“The peace that passeth understanding keeps my heart and mind through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:7).

“He will never leave me, nor forsake me” (Hebrews 13:5).

“Ye are of God little children and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world” (I John 4:4).

I take the Word and I draw strength from it. When I pass through the waters, rivers, and fires, He will be with me (Isaiah 43:2). Notice that this verse says, “When you go through…. You don’t go in the waters and drown, nor do you go in the fires and burn up, Jesus takes you

through! Glory!

In my daily walk with the Lord,

I must always rely on His Word. I must have something to give me strength and to keep me going. There is no way that I can do it by myself. “Not my might, nor by power, but by my spirit said the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6).

As I said before, you draw strength from the Word of God; however, you can’t draw strength from it if you don’t know it. For example, if you are in a tornado or hurricane and you don’t know that your authority is in the

Name of Jesus, then that hurricane could destroy you and many of your possessions. However, if you know you have authority in the Name of Jesus, then you can quote Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” I say, “In the Name of Jesus, this tornado or hurricane will not hurt me or my family because He has given me power and all authority over the power of the enemy and I command this hurricane to stop in the Name of Jesus.” You will receive strength by saying these words during a hurricane (or any other situation). Those who move with God draw strength from God’s Word.

The further you go with God you will notice that more problems and difficulties will come against you; however, as you lean upon the Word of God you will not be bothered by them as much because you have developed a strong

Word foundation.

Get filled with God’s Word. It will make you say, “Glory! Hallelujah!” It will produce confidence and assurance — not in yourself but in

God’s Word.

Chapter V

KNOW TO TAKE GOD AT HIS WORD REGARDLESS

Abraham was seventy-five years of age when God told him to pack up and get out! He couldn’t have a child, but God said, “Abraham, I’m going to give you a son.” Those who want to go on with God

know that the things which are impossible for man are possible for God. Those who go on with God look at impossible situations and learn to laugh. They say, “God is on my side — who or what shall I fear?” Praise God!

God is looking for men and women who will believe for the impossible. He wants us to be like Abraham who called those things that did not exist as though they did. He wants us to stand upon His Word so He can move. God wants a people who will hold fast to His Word when sickness, fear, problems, and attacks come from the enemy.

God’s Word cannot fail because it is true. As you stand upon God’s Word and believe it, your faith in the Word will cause tremendous power to be released. Nothing will be able to stand against you — NOTHING! The anointing of the Holy Spirit protects you.

How far are you going with God? I encourage you to make up your mind. Revelation 3:15-16 says, “…I would thou were cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”

You would be surprised to know how many Charismatic — Full Gospel — Pentecostal people are not going on with God. Just because you speak in tongues, believe in divine healing, and deliverance from demonic oppression or possession does not mean you are going on with God. You must draw strength from the Word of God

daily, you must commune with the Father daily. What you received yesterday will not do for today. You need another dose today. Hallelujah! If you go two or three days without a dose, you will have problems. You will be drained of strength.

I walk in victory seven days a week, but I know that the only way I can is by feeding myself on the Word seven days a week. I have fellowship with my Father, and so do you.

You say, “But I just don’t have time.” Well, that’s your confession, and that’s what you have. Your own mouth gets you into trouble. With a confession like that, you never will study the Word. You let the devil eat your time up.

I know what many say: “Oh well, I have a job to take care of.” It is not your job that steals your time, but it’s the television, the talking parties, the rap-sessions,

“As the World Turns,” and “Doctors and Lawyers,” and “Nurses!” That’s what is getting in your way. Don’t blame it on your job — BLAME IT ON YOURSELF! I believe you want to go on with God, so I know you will consider what I have said.

In this book, I am calling to your attention things you already know. I’m not telling you anything you don’t know, but I believe that sometimes you need to be reminded! You need someone to come along and say, “Now listen, you know better than that. Get up and start moving.”

I know that you intend to go on with God, or you wouldn’t have bought this book, but the devil wants to keep you preoccupied. The next thing you’ll know, you will get so rested where you are that you will not be worth anything.

If you have known the Lord for a long time, you should never, ever slow down, but continually stay in communion with the Father. You must keep the fire burning. If you have been piddling around, the devil is putting water on your fire. You might try to justify yourself by saying you’re so deep in the things of God.

I don’t want to get deeper if it takes away my joy. I don’t want to get deeper if it takes away my love, my freedom and my victory. If this fruit is not present in your life, you are not going deeper with God — you’re going in the exact opposite direction.

Jesus says, “My love, My joy, My peace I give unto you.” This applies only to those who go on with God. Besides all this, He gives you His Name whereby you can do the impossible. If you only want to do

natural things, then stop. Be diligent in things of God and you will walk in victory every day. You will lay hands upon the sick and see them healed, you will cast out devils and be a shouter and a praiser of the Almighty God.

Back in 1900, when the Pentecostals were moving with God, everybody fought them. Everybody talked against them. The next thing you knew, they started getting dignified and reserved. That’s why they dried up. You know, when I shout for Jesus, I turn people off, and when they get turned off, I know that

they have problems.

Let’s be men and women who will go on with God so that people will hear about it.

Then they’ll know that something is different.

They will be telling people: “Listen, they roll on the floor at their church.” Next thing you know, they will say, “Let’s go see if they do.” They will be telling people that you run and shout. They will go see, then the Holy Spirit of God will move upon their heart! They may think they’ve come to hear shouting but really, down deep inside, they want something from God.

Chapter VI

KNOW TO MANAGE FINANCES CORRECTLY

Genesis 14:18-20 says that Abraham gave the tithe. As for me, I make sure I give my tithe. You say, “Brother Willis, what do you do with the money you make?” I take ten percent of it and put it into the storehouse where I am getting my (spiritual) food. The money I receive from seminars and whatever comes through the mail, I take ten percent of it, and give it to the gospel.

Those who go on with God have to learn how to manage their money

and you have to manage it for God. Sure, it’s your business; it’s your money, but if you don’t do what God tells you to do with it, you will not be blessed fully and completely.

Abraham was a blessed man. He knew where his blessings came from, so he gave his tithe to God. If you want to be blessed financially,

learn Malachi 3:4-18… “Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Learn Luke 6:38, “Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.” Learn Mark 10:29-30, “And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions: and in the world to come eternal life.” Learn these verses so well that you will start doing them.

You may say, “Brother Willis, I don’t believe it.” It doesn’t make any difference whether you believe it or not, it is still true. The Bible says to do it. By not obeying the Word, you only hurt YOURSELF. God’s prosperity plan is for your benefit.

You may say, “Well, Brother Willis, you’re just trying to get my money.” If you think that, just give your money somewhere else.

God is my source! God is going to take care of me. His Word says that He will meet all my needs. His Word says He will provide for me. I thank God that He lets me manage 90 percent of it. That’s a blessing! He could have left only 10 percent for me. Some people say, “Well, tithing is a law.” No, tithing was before the law. Those who go on with God manage God’s money correctly.

Chapter VII

KNOW LAND OF OPPORTUNITY IS LAND OF OPPOSITION

Caanan was the land of “milk and honey.” There were huge grapes also, but right in the midst of the land were giants.

Friend, God wants to take you into the land of opportunity, but don’t think when you get there that there won’t be any devils there or any problems there, or any difficulties there. They will be there all right, however, they won’t be hard to overcome because you will be grown up so much that you will just walk on by! For example, a chair would be mighty heavy for a two year old to carry. But give the child five more years and it won’t be near as heavy. Why? Because the child has grown. Grow up in God and conquer your mountains.

Problems and difficulties come against you now, but as you continue to walk with God, those same problems won’t look the same a year or month from now. They will still be there, but the devil will not be able to make them any bigger. You will grow bigger, and bigger in God, mentally, physically, spiritually and financially. Problems will come, but dear friend, I’ve found

that He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world — I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. When difficulties come, I just rear back and shout, “Oh, hallelujah! Here’s another opportunity to exercise faith. Here’s another opportunity to let Jesus shine!”

When God told me He was “giving me the privilege of living by faith” and for me to resign as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Baldwin, Louisiana, and move to Lafayette, Louisiana, it looked like a land of great opposition but it became a land of great opportunity. Praise God!

The Lord told me a long time ago to stay in my office where He would prepare me to teach the Word. I thank God for what He has done for me. He’s blessed me so bountifully that I know I could never turn back. I know so much about the Word of God that I only have one choice — and that is

to go on.

The more Word you learn, the closer you will stay to God. I always tell people that

the further you go with God, the fewer are your options. You can’t keep studying the Word and hold on to your old ways. Either go all the way with God or quit studying your Bible. You will be responsible for what you know not what you don’t know. I put the Word out, then it’s up to you to take it. I’ll never shirk my responsibility to put God’s Word out, and tell it to you straightforward. I’m going to stay under that spout where the glory comes out! God has blessed me too much to turn away. I thank Him continually for it — I appreciate it. I appreciate it so much that I’ll not let anyone keep me from teaching what God’s Word says.

Sometimes people tell me I’m too firm and too strong when I teach, but if I don’t tell you the truth, I’m not fair to you.

“You will know the truth and the truth will make you free.”

Many preachers today are so afraid people will get mad and go home (with their wallets) until they just sit there and butter up their congregations and they dry up and die spiritually.

Dear reader,

God is the source of my ministry. It takes a lot of money to run it — that’s why I have to continually commune with the Lord. If everyone would put their money in their pockets, God would bring it from somewhere else, because I’m looking to Him, God is my source of supply.

I want you to be that way also, I want you to walk with God because times will come when you will have to know how to believe in Him for your life, health, finances, etc. You will not be able to believe God for these things unless you learn today to walk under the mighty anointing of the Holy Spirit of God.

God is raising up a people prepared for the return of His Son. God is moving today. Glory, hallelujah!

Chapter VIII

KNOW TO CONTINUALLY WORSHIP GOD

Remember the blessings of Abraham? Don’t you want all of his blessings? The way he was blessed so much was by obeying God’s Word. This is how you will get blessed, too. You will have to be faithful to Him, then He will bless you. A continuous life of worship is a must if you are going to move with God.

Remember the altars Abraham built for God? He was continuously worshipping the Lord. Genesis 12:7 says, “…And there builded he an altar unto the Lord who appeared unto him.” Those who go on with God have to realize that worship and praise is as much a part of their Christian life as reading the Bible. You must be willing to come to that place of worship and praise in Jesus — without any fear, frustration, or condemnation from the devil or man.

Ladies, during your day, lift your hands and praise God. Praise Him in English and praise Him in tongues. Men, while at work, you can find time to praise God also, because if you read the Bible, you will find that all the great men of God were worshipers, they were praisers, they were men and women who magnified and glorified the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Therefore, those who will go on with God must have a continuous life of worship. Meditate on the Word — and worship God in English and in the Spirit. You must come into His presence with thanksgiving and with praises.

I don’t start my day without praising God even if I go to bed at 2:00 a.m. and have to leave at 5:00 a.m. I still get up a little earlier so I can spend a little time worshipping the Lord. “But Brother Willis, my body doesn’t feel like it.” If you let your body tell you what to do, you will never do much praising. I don’t let my body tell me what to do — I obey the Word of God. My life is directed by the

Word not by my feelings or senses. Phil. 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always.”

God is raising up men and women whose lives will be directed and controlled by the Word of God. The Bible says in Phil. 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord.” When? Always! Always! Always! Give thanks continually unto the Lord, learn to let this be a way of life to you. Don’t let the devil keep your mind so wrapped up in the things of the world until you can’t remember to thank the Lord and praise His holy name.

Dear reader, I don’t know what you do when you sit down to eat, but you’d better learn to bless your food. When I go to Honduras for seminars, I bless my food. Just because the product in the United States is marked A-1, that doesn’t mean anything any more. The Lord spoke to me and said,

“Son, the reason so many are sick today is because they don’t bless their food in faith.” The Bible says to do everything in faith for “without faith it is impossible to please Him,” (Heb. 11:6).

“But Brother Willis, you mean I should bless my food even while in a restaurant?” Of course! If anyone says something to you,

they’ve got the problem — not you. Often, I will raise one arm. “Oh Brother Willis, you’re just trying to be a show-off.” Yeah, I’m showing off to the devil. You don’t have to do what I do, but you’d better quit being ashamed of Jesus. He put the food on your table, and if you go to a restaurant to buy it, He put the money in your pocket so you could get it.

Quit listening to what the world tells you.

Others sit around in restaurants using their vulgar language, and you don’t want to bless your food. You sit there and listen to their cursing and dirty jokes, but you will be too bound up, bashful, and ashamed to bless your food. You’re so afraid they are going to talk about you.

They talk about me — and I’m glad they do. I want them to notice that no matter where I am, I’ll bless my food. I know the devil tells you this: “Well, just use wisdom. Don’t turn anyone off.” They don’t even know you’re around. They don’t know you stand for God. This may seem like a small matter, but these things that you’re not paying any attention to today are going to interfere with your going on with God.

Those who go on with God must continually worship Him.

Chapter IX

KNOW TO BE A HARD FIGHTER

Friend, you must be a hard fighter,

“for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph. 6:12). In Genesis 14:12-14, it talks about Lot. The people had taken him captive, but one escaped and ran to tell Abraham. He armed himself to attack these people. He wasn’t just wasting his life away all this time, but had been learning God’s ways. Therefore, when the time came to battle his foes. Abraham was ready. He gathered all his men together and “brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people” (verse 16).

God wants us to always be ready for any situation. He wants us to continually be preparing for warfare against our enemy — Satan. He wants us to plant God’s Word inside of us so when the devil comes against us, we’ll be hard fighters. Then, and then only, will we know the Word of God and how to use our Sword. We will know how to use the helmet. We will know how to resist and defeat him with the Word of God! We will put the Word of God on him so many different times that he won’t know what to do. We will keep the enemy in mass confusion.

God is planting His Word inside of His men and women so strong today, when the devil comes at them with troubles and problems, they will chop him with the Word of God. Satan doesn’t know what to do then, so he flees! He takes off because he knows that God’s men and women are hard fighters and that

they know how to use the Word. Without God’s Word, there is no way to whip the devil. Jesus said, “It is written,” and He used the Word to defeat Satan. This is exactly what you and I must do also.

Friend, LEARN THE WORD OF GOD and say, “I’m going on.” LEARN THE WORD OF GOD so that when the storms come, when your husband comes against you, when your wife comes against you, when the kids come against you, when your neighbors aren’t friendly, when your boss disagrees with you, and everything else is going wrong, you will be able to come out victoriously. Nothing can stop you when you use the Word of God, and as you do it more and more, the powers of darkness shall be driven back, because they cannot stand against the man or woman who will take the Word of God and use it correctly.

Begin to call the devil what he is, begin to call

yourself who you are. Take your words and reshape your situation if it isn’t the way you know it should be. The Word can change your life and situation into a better one.

Brothers and sisters, the Bible says that the rain comes and the sun shines on the just and the unjust, but

faith makes the difference in the outcome. See, the same problems come on me that come on you, but faith makes the difference. The same disease that comes against you, comes against me, but faith makes the difference. The same financial needs that existed in your life, existed in mine, but faith makes the difference. Everyone will go through the same things — FAITH MAKES THE OUTCOME DIFFERENT. If you don’t use the Word of God, your outcome will be a horrible one. A victorious life comes only with continuous meditation upon the Word of God. You can’t blame God that the devil whipped you. If you fall, don’t blame me or anyone else, just point your finger at yourself and say, “Well, I just wasn’t strong enough in the Word to take it, so I got mad and went home.” All you have to do now is get down on your knees and say, “God, here I am with this problem. I don’t want it any more, forgive me Lord,” then get up and start over. Go back and win this time, using the Word you have planted in your heart.

You know, so many people must blame somebody else for their failures. God says,

“Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world” (I John 4:4). God says, “You are more than a conqueror,” (Rom. 8:37) and “He always causes you to triumph in Christ Jesus” (II Cor. 2:14). If you don’t win the battle, just take that big old finger of yours that you’ve been pointing at other people and turn it towards your face! “But Brother Willis, So and So hit me!” Well, he’s wrong, but, if you get angry and hit him back, you are wrong.

Be quick to repent. I know that one reason God has blessed me is because I have been quick to repent. I’m quick to admit that I got a little angry, I got a little frustrated, or I said something with a little sharpness to it that I shouldn’t have said. I don’t just come out and admit it to anyone unless God tells me to, but as soon as I walk off, I say, “Jesus forgive me. I had no business saying that.”

I’m not going to let anything interfere with the Holy Spirit teaching and revealing Himself to me. I’m a hard fighter against the devil. I fight hard to make sure the devil doesn’t bring anything between me and God,

because I don’t have any other life. This is my life! If I didn’t have God. I wouldn’t have anything, in fact, I’m nothing without Him. No man or woman is ever anything until they know God. With God inside of you, you have life more abundantly.

Dear reader, don’t let the devil beat you down. Remember who you are, remember that you are a son of God — an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ! God loves you. God cared enough to send His Son Jesus to die for you. Tell yourself this now: “He died for

me, Jesus died for me, He loved me so much He died for me. Greater love has no man than to lay down his life for a friend. He died for me, that I might have life — that I might be able to represent Jesus Christ the Son of God.” Praise God!

Chapter X

KNOW GOD INSISTS UPON FIRST PLACE

God must be number one. It usually takes Him quite a while to get to be number one in most lives because people’s visions are limited — so many other things are first.

With Abraham, God came to the place where He told him to take his only son Isaac and offer him as a sacrifice unto Him. Why? God wanted to know if He was first in Abraham’s life or not. God will only use those who put Him first.

I want everyone to know that as much as I love my wife, my sons, and my daughters I will never

put them before God. God is number one in my life — my family doesn’t even run close to God. However, because of the way I feel about it, I’ve got so much more love to give to them, I can love my wife like I’ve never loved her before because I put God first. Men, love God first, then His love will flow through you so you will have extra love to give your wife. Women, love God first, then you will have extra love to give to your husband. Moms and dads, love God first, then you will be able to shower your love on your children in a greater way. You will see God’s love flowing on them through you. GOD MUST BE FIRST.

God said, “Love

Me with all your heart, soul and might.” God is the One who gave us eternal life. God is the One who heals us. God is the One who meets your needs. SO WHY NOT PUT HIM FIRST?

When God becomes first place in your life, you will see how easy it will be to love your family and friends. You will not know what I’m talking about until you do as I say. It’s like this: you give (your love) and you receive (love). Give all of yourself to God because when you do, He multiplies His love and it bounces back to you, then you have His love multiplying.

“Give and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over…” (Luke 6:38).

Give all of yourself and put Him first,

then He will give you spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially more than you will know what to do with. You will have an abundance of everything. There must come a time in your life when you say, “God, You are first.”

Abraham had only one son. God said, “Give him to Me,” so Abraham obeyed and God gave him his son back — in fact, He gave him hundreds back! That’s a principle — “Give and it shall be given.” However, the devil deceives people into thinking that you don’t have to go all the way with God, because he knows that when you do, it opens the door for you to get everything you need. God wants all of your love.

Husband or wife, you don’t want your mate to give you just a dab of his/her love, do you? Of course not, you want it all. You may say, “But Brother Willis, I’m just getting a dab of it.” Well you keep on believing God and one day

you’ll get it all. I guarantee you that just as soon as you learn to believe God’s Word and stay with it, God will make His Word alive in your life. So many people have misconceptions about the Word. They think that God’s going to ask them for the same things He asked Abraham for. They say, “I couldn’t give up my son.” All God wants is for you to be willing where you are now. God requires different things from a five year old than He does from a thirty year old. God doesn’t ask of a new Christian what He will ask of a mature one. We wouldn’t ask a three year old to mow the lawn, nor would we ask a twenty year old to play cowboys and Indians. God’s principle is the same.

Confess this now: “God, all that I am, I give to You, all that I ever will be, I give it to You.” And God says,

“I’ll take it!” You see, you gave Him all that you are now, and God takes it and He begins to multiply it back to you. Next thing you know, you have more, that’s the giving principle. You give to Him and He gives back to you.

God wants us to just give all that we are. He wants to be Lord, then He will be able to give us houses and land and cattle and cars! He says He will give us everything we need. But dear Christian friend, you must put everything upon the altar before Him first of all.

I’m talking about those who are going on with God — those who will trust God to give back to them. Do you know what Mark 10:29-30 says? It says,

“And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, there is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”

Jesus will give back to you when?; “Now in this time.” I was pastoring in Baldwin, Louisiana and I left my house; I left my ministry; and I left brothers and sisters down there. Do you know what happened? I have them all over the United States now and in foreign lands, too. I had to give those people up, even though I loved them so much. God had brought us all into the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, healing, deliverance, and so much more. I was having the best time, but then God said,

“Son, give it up.” “What for God?” He said, “Get a building in Lafayette, Louisiana and stay in your office.” I said, “All right God, it’s Your business, my life is Yours.”

Friend, I now have more of everything, because God says if you give things up for the Gospel’s sake, He will give it all back. You say, “That means I’ll have to give my house away?” I’m not talking about giving it to someone, I mean you’ll have to put it on the altar. You will have to put your husband, your wife, your children, your money and yourself there also. However, put yourself on the altar first. The rest of it is not worth anything without

you. God doesn’t need all the other things anyway. He owns all the money in the world already, and, if He wanted any, all He’d have to do is make some!

Our Father has so much of everything to give away — especially love, and He needed someone to give it to so He made man. He made us so He could love us, bless us and grow us the way

He wants to. He doesn’t want us to stay babies. He will pass you by for others if you don’t want to grow up. You cannot stay a baby. Israel was God’s chosen people, but He passed them by. Any man or woman who doesn’t sell out to Him totally will be passed by. I’ll tell you one thing, He’s not going to pass me by, because I am going to move with God. How about you?
