Introduction
Having victory over the impossible may sound like a paradox statement, but as you learn how to move with God and to walk in the things of God it will not be contradictory to you. Many of you are in circumstances and situations that seem to be impossible. You may be looking at your sons and daughters, or your husband, or mama, or daddy, or brother, or sister, or neighbor and saying, “God, it just looks like it’s going to be impossible for you to bring them into the kingdom of God.” Where things look impossible is where God works, dear Christian friends. Some of you may be looking at your body and thinking about the pain or the physical problem that you have, or at some member of your family, and as you look at the situation all of your senses say “it’s impossible.” I am here to tell you that that which is impossible with man is possible with God, and for those who believe in Him. Some of you may be saying, “Brother Willis, I don’t have any particular circumstance or situation that looks impossible for me.” If this is your case, then I challenge you to get out on the water. You are sitting on the shore somewhere and no one learns to swim by sitting on the shore line. You may say, “Brother Willis, I have all my financial needs met, I am healthy, and my family is saved.” Well, there are many other areas where you can get out upon the water if you are willing to get out into the land of impossibility so that God can give you a miracle. I praise God that I have discovered that I am serving a miracle working God. I praise God that I’ve found out the only way to get a miracle is to get into miracle land.
I just want to encourage each one of you, where ever you need a miracle in your life, to learn how to believe God in that place and to act upon what you believe. Step out in that area and God will give you a miracle because He is in the business of giving miracles. All God is looking for today is boys, girls, men, and women who will say, “God, I believe You. I’m going to step out in miracle land.” This is the kind of men and women that God is looking for today and will use in mighty ways in the end of time. He is not looking for men and women who will compromise with the things of the world and stay in the natural arena. He is looking for men and women who realize that the supernatural power of God is still here today and He is not dead or lost any power. God’s ability to heal is just as great as it ever has been. His ability to save and to fill with the Holy Spirit is just as great as it ever has been. God’s ability to set people free from fear, frustration, worry, and confusion is just as great as it ever has been. Dear Christian friend, I want you to know today that God hasn’t lost any power. He hasn’t gotten any weaker. All He is looking for today is men and women who will say, “I believe God.”
Mark 9:23 says, “…If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” There’s not any question about God bringing His Word to pass. We should not even consider that. It’s not a matter of what God can do, but He says, “If thou canst believe.” It is a matter of what you will believe Him for. Brothers and sisters, you must realize that Jesus Christ has come and has done His work. He finished it at Calvary. He died, rose from the grave, and He ascended back to the heavens and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. Jesus can no longer, in the flesh, walk up and down the highways and byways of this world and teach the things that need to be taught. Therefore, we are His ambassadors. We are His children and are to do His works. We are to do His ministry. We are to proclaim and teach the Word. We are to heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out the devils, and set people’s minds free, and we are to do it all in the name of Jesus. He has given to us everything that we need to do these things. We just need to begin to act upon what we have. John 14:12 says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also…” When shall these things be done, tomorrow? No, tomorrow never comes. Today is the day that you and I must do the things that Jesus said we are to do. He didn’t say, “Verily, verily, I say unto you the things I do shall you do tomorrow.” This is why it’s not working for most of God’s people. They are trying to relegate it and put it into tomorrow. This is the day, dear Christian friend. Jesus can’t save tomorrow, He saves today. He won’t heal tomorrow, He heals today because tomorrows never get here. He doesn’t fill with the Holy Spirit tomorrow, He’ll fill with the Holy Spirit today. He’ll set your mind free today. Quit looking at tomorrow, brothers and sisters. Say, “Today is my day. Today is the day I’m going to get victory in my physical, spiritual, mental, or financial area. Today is the day.”
The impossible to the natural man and the carnal Christian is the land of victory for those of faith. What seems to be impossible to most people is just right for a man or woman of faith who knows how to believe God. They know how to take their faith and make the circumstance bend and flip over and change around. Storms may come, but they know how to take their faith and make the outcome different. God moves to transcend circumstances and situations for those who believe in victory over the impossible. This is not for those who look at things and say, “Well, I don’t see any way out of it,” or who look at someone who is sick and say, “I don’t know whether he can get healed,” or look at those who are bound up with fear and frustration and worry and say, “I don’t see any way out of it.” Those are not the ones God moves for. The one that God moves for is the man or woman who looks at a situation and their eyes, ears, feelings, nose, mouth, and all their senses say “impossible.” Everything in the natural says “it can’t be done,” but that man or woman will look at that naturally impossible situation and say, “I believe God.” This is where they begin to transcend the circumstance and the situation. If you are looking at some problem or difficulty today that looks impossible , I want to tell you that’s exactly where God can move. As long as you are not in a circumstance or situation that seems impossible to you God can’t move, because He only moves where you can’t. God only moves outside of your range of abilities and outside of your power and what you can do. So as you come into a place or a situation where you can’t and it’s beyond everything in you, that’s where you must boldly stand and say, “God, I can’t, but glory hallelujah, I believe You can. God, I can’t work this problem out. God, I can’t get my husband, my son, my dad, my mom saved. God, I can’t pass this test. God, I just can’t make it, but I know that You can. I’m going to get out of the natural arena and I’m going to step over into the supernatural arena. I’m going to get over in the place where I can give You right of way so that You can use what You have, because what I have is just not doing the job. God, I’ve been trying to work this thing out and do this for weeks, months, or years, and I’ll just tell You, I’ve come to find out that it’s too big a load, so I want to get into the place where You can do it.” Those who speak like this are the kind of people that get miracles from God.
We will be studying from the third chapter of the book of Daniel. This chapter presents some key principles to victory over the so-called impossible in the lives of three of God’s men. Notice I called it so-called impossible. Every time the world says it’s impossible, that’s just exactly where God likes to move. This is the life of three of God’s men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. As we study this Scripture you will find out that these were men that were in situations that looked to be impossible.
Chapter I
CONFESS GOD’S ABILITY BOLDLY
The first thing I want you to realize about victory over the impossible is that you must first confess God’s ability boldly. In Daniel 3:16-17 we see, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.” If you are going to move in a life that brings you victory over the impossible, you are going to have to learn to confess God’s ability boldly. They said to the king, “Our God is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace.” You need to be able to say today before anyone, “My God is able to deliver me from the burning furnace. My God is able to deliver me from the circumstance and the situation I’m involved in. My God is able to give me victory with my family or with my job. My God is able. My God hasn’t lost any of His power or ability.” However, if you are going to receive victory over the impossible you are going to have to confess, right in the face of the impossible situation, that your God is able to do it. You see, anyone can say, “I believe it can work,” when they can see a way out. But a man or woman of God who is going to get victory over the impossible must be able to look squarely in the eye of a circumstance or situation in which everything says it’s impossible and say, “Everything about me says it’s impossible, but my God is able to deliver me. I don’t know how, but He is able to deliver me.” These Jewish boys said it to the king. You are going to have to say it to some of the people you know. You are going to have to say it to some of the folks on the block. You are going to have to say it to some of the men on the job. You are going to have to say it to some of the believers. You are going to have to boldly confess your belief in the ability of God. Now you may say, “Brother Willis, I believe it.” Well, you don’t believe it very much if you’re not yet willing to go to the extent of saying it boldly in the face of someone.
Most Christians get out and start making bold confessions and when people come against them a little bit they’re not so bold any longer. But these old boys stood before the king of Babylon, one of the greatest nations in the world, and they said, “Our God is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace.” You are going to have to say He’s able to deliver you from your furnace, whether it be from your financial need, your physical need, your mental need, or from your spiritual need. You are going to have to start confessing with your mouth that you know that your God is able. Thinking is good, but thinking is not what does it. It’s saying it that brings the victory. It is easy to think off by yourself, “Oh God can do anything.” It’s good to think it off in the corner somewhere. You see, the devil doesn’t bother that kind of people. They are not a threat to him. Do you know who are the ones who are a threat to him? It is the ones who think it over in the corner and come out of the corner and say, “My God is able to deliver me.” Those are the ones who get victory.
Chapter II
CONFESS GOD’S WILL FOR YOU
They said to the king, “Our God is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace.” Well, every Christian who knows God knows that He is able. You must go further than knowing He is able and confess that it is God’s will for you. They said in the 17th verse, “He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.” You will have to start saying, “My God is able,” then the next thing you are going to say is, “My God will deliver me out of the fiery furnace.” Now the devil will come against you when you confess the ability of God. But when you start personalizing it and saying, “My God is going to bring me out,” that’s when the fire begins to fly. That’s when things begin to stir around you, because then you are taking it personally. Then you are beginning to say that God’s not going to move for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego only, but God’s going to move for me, here and now, and that’s what the devil doesn’t like. The devil doesn’t mind religions that preach about what went on in the past. He doesn’t mind preachers standing up and telling about the walls of Jericho, and about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and about Daniel, Elijah, and Jeremiah. As long as they preach that it’s good. But when they bring it right down to today and say He did it then but He’ll do it today also, that’s when the devil minds. The Bible is a now book and not a tomorrow book. Now faith is. Today is the day of salvation, so you are going to have to confess that it is God’s will for you now. You will never get victory over the impossible if you don’t. Let’s say you look at something and say, “I know that one of these days God is going to save my husband.” Forget it. When is one of these days going to be? When you are willing to look at an impossible situation and say, “Praise God, God is going to save my husband now,” you will get victory over the impossible. Quit putting it in the sweet by and by.
Chapter III
CONFESS YOUR STAND
These young boys said, “King, our God is able.” Then they came right back and said, “He’s not only able, but He’s going to take us out.” Then they confessed their stand and said, “We will not serve thy gods.” The 18th verse says, “But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” Do you believe they were specific about it? Most of God’s people today don’t want anyone to know who they are and what they believe in. You are going to have to confess your stand. You must go all the way. You must say, “I will not yield or submit to the pressure by people or the situation.” Whatever your situation, difficulty, or problem is that seems to be impossible, you are going to have to begin to confess, “I know God is able.” Then you are going to have to confess, “I know God will do it for me.” Next, you will have to say, “I will not be moved. I will not accept this sickness. I will not accept this family problem. I will not accept this fear.” You will have to take your stand just as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did. They said, “We will not serve thy gods.” You tell the devil, the circumstance, and the situation, “I will not accept this circumstance. I will not accept this fear. I will not accept this envy. I will not accept this resentment. I only accept those things that come from God. Devil, I don’t want anything to do with you any more. I’m not going to take it. I’m taking my stand that He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world. I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus and I will not put up with this anymore.”
Victory over the impossible comes when you take your stand. As long as you Mickey Mouse around about it and play around and say, “Well, I just don’t know whether I’m going to do it or not,” don’t worry, the devil says, “You won’t.” Those who get victory over the impossible situations are those who take their stand. “I am not going to live in poverty. I will not stay in debt. I will not buy on credit. I will not be sick.” Then you turn around and say what you are going to do. “I’m going to serve God every day. I’m going to walk in victory 365 days out of the year. I’m going to walk in divine health. My family and I are serving God. I am a witness for Jesus. I am going to be faithful every day. I am going to praise God morning, noon, and night. I am going to be a light and I am going to shine. I am the salt of the earth. The love of God is in my heart and I love people regardless of whether or not they love me. The joy of the Lord is my strength and I’m going to let it go regardless.” You are going to have to take your stand as to what you are and are not going to do. Dear Christian friends, until you begin to confess it with your mouth it will not work for you. It will not become effective. Every word that you speak is spirit and it is life. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life is in the power of the tongue.” You either take your mouth and make a confession that brings death to you or you take your mouth and make a confession that brings life to you. As you speak those words that line up with the Word of God, God takes those words and begins to work. That is your faith speaking. When you say you’re not going to give in to the devil, that’s your faith speaking. The devil is going to come against you to try to make you take it back, but if you’ll stand upon the Word of God, God will bring it through for you.
Victory over the impossible comes when you confess God’s ability boldly. You confess God’s will for you. You personalize it and then you confess your stand based upon the Word of God. God’s Word says in II Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” If God has not given me a spirit of fear, I will not accept fear because it doesn’t come from God. The Bible says in Matthew 8:17, “…Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.” If Jesus bore my sicknesses and infirmities I will not accept them because He has already borne them for me. The Bible says in Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Therefore, I will not live in want or need because God’s Word says that He supplies all my needs. The first thing the devil says is, “Well, who do you think you are?” That’s when you lay it on him. Say, “I’m just a son of God, an heir of God and joint heir with Jesus Christ. My Saviour is the one who whipped you. That’s who I am.” He tries to stop most of you from saying that. You start making a few of those confessions and the devil shoots a little old doubt arrow in your mind. This is when most of you quiver a little bit and tone down. We are talking about getting victory over the impossible circumstance or situation.
Alright, let’s say, for example, you have confessed God’s ability. You’ve confessed that God will do it for you. You are confessing your stand as to where you are, who you are, and what you are. Now you had better be prepared for the reaction.
Chapter IV
BE PREPARED FOR THE REACTION
In the 19th verse of Daniel 3 it says, “Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego…” You see, these old boys stood and said, “Listen, our God is able. He’s going to deliver us and we are not going to serve your gods.” Nebuchadnezzar then began to act. His countenance began to change against them and he began to be angry. Have you ever noticed that when you begin to boldly confess God’s Word as to who you are, what you are, and what you are going to do, it begins to change people’s countenance? They get quiet and start looking at you. They want to move on real quick to get away from you. I want to tell you that it’s those devils in them that can’t take it. It doesn’t matter if it’s your mama, daddy, brother, or sister, but whenever a man or woman begins to boldly confess the Word of God those who don’t know the Word of God will rise up against it. You start confessing that Jesus bore your sickness and your infirmities and those who don’t know the Word of God, regardless of what denominational background it is, will rise up against you. Their countenance will change. They will become full of fury and they’ll say, “Who do you think you are?” Just say, “Well, God says it.” “Well, He doesn’t mean it that way.” Say, “Yes, He does. I believe He means what He said.” Be prepared for the reaction. When you start making your confessions, the devil is going to get full of fury first of all. He’s going to say, “That little pip squeak. I’ve had them going my way for ten, fifteen, twenty, maybe thirty years and look at them over there spouting off about what they are going to do.” He begins to blow his whistle and call in his demon crew and they begin to lay it on you. He gets full of fury, and those round about you who hear it get full of fury.
Most people are going to get full of fury when you begin to say, “Not only will God do it, but He is going to do it for me.” You can go around most people and say, “God can do this or that. God can heal. God can open the eyes of the blind. God can do financial miracles. God can just save that old drunk.” They will answer, “Yes, He sure can.” But you start saying, “God’s going to do it for me.” They’ll say, “Wait a minute now. You are being presumptuous there now. You are trying to tell God what He can do.” God has already said what He can do, all He wants is someone to believe that He will do what He says He’ll do. Be prepared for the reaction. Whenever you come against the impossible situation you are going to have to be bold in Jesus. As you speak the words of God, something will begin to turn within those who hear you if they don’t know the Word of God. They will get full of fury.
The next thing that Nebuchadnezzar did was to command that the furnace be heated seven times more. Whenever you come against your impossible situation and speak that God is going to give you victory over it the devil and his demons are going to go into a fit. They begin to heat that furnace up by causing everyone who hears you to get aggravated and agitated and upset at you. You say, “Brother Willis, why does all this pressure have to come?” It’s because the devil wants to stop you. He’s got two ways to try to stop you, either by using people or situations, or circumstances. He’s got to stir people up to come against you to stop you from making your bold confessions or he’s got to get in the circumstance or the situation to put enough pressure on you to make you back up. The reason is that the devil knows that if you will stand up there to that mountain and say, “Mountain, be moved in the name of Jesus,” and you keep on saying it, it’s going to go. He is going to try to stop you from saying it, so you have to be prepared for the reaction. Whenever you expect to get a miracle and get into miracle land where God’s power moves, the devil is going to try to stop you. You must be prepared. You need to be taught not only about victory and that God wants you to walk in that victory, but you need to know what the problems are in getting there too. “Brother Willis, is it easy?” No, nobody likes people to be mad at you. You don’t like people to be jumping on you, or calling you a liar and a cheat, and all the things they say about people who stand upon the Word of God. Therefore, it is not easy.
Chapter V
BE READY FOR THE EFFECTS
Look what happened to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They said what they were going to do. They said, “Our God is able. He will deliver us. We’re not going to serve your gods.” The effect that they had upon them was that the king got angry and commanded the fire to be made seven times hotter. You must be prepared for the effect upon you. Verse 21 says, “…were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.” You must be prepared wherever you begin to confess that you have a miracle by confessing that you are going to make your stand against what the devil will come against you with by people and circumstances. You are going to find yourself in the middle of a tough situation. You’re going to be right in there. “Well, Brother Willis, what am I doing there?” You got there because you were bold enough to say that you were not going to get there and the devil said, “I’m going to show you.” He comes against you with pressure and drives you right into the midst of that thing. Glory hallelujah, brothers and sisters, if you’ll stand right in the midst of that fire and still say, “I believe God. My God is able. My God is going to bring me out of this thing and I’m not going to stay here. I’m not going to stay defeated, frustrated, and confused.” If you’ll keep on saying those things right in the midst of that furnace, the Father is going to be sitting up there and Jesus is going to say, “Father, listen to him. The devil has pushed him right into the middle of the fiery furnace and he’s still saying, ‘I believe God.’ His eyes, feelings, ears, nose, and everything about him says he’s in the furnace, but, Father, he’s just still saying, ‘I believe God’.” And the Father says, “That’s my boy.” Be ready for the effect upon you. You’ll be cast into the furnace. The devil will push you into some circumstances and situations. He’ll bring people against you and put pressure against you to try to get you off of your confession, but it will work for the man or woman who will stand there and hold fast to God’s Word.
You must also be prepared for the effects upon others. Verse 22 says, “…the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.” You must be prepared whenever you begin to take a stand for the Word of God, because it’s going to affect those around you. It’s going to affect your friends. You may not have the same ones any longer. It affects your family because the devil will jump on them. “Brother Willis, why does he jump on my family?” He will use them to try to get you off of your confession. He doesn’t care who he uses as long as he can whip a man or woman that stands upon the Word of God. He may use the people you work with. You must be prepared for the effect upon others. If you take a stand the devil is going to come against your family. If you say, “Praise God, Jesus is our Healer,” you had better be ready to lay your hands on that little boy or girl to get them healed, because the devil knows what the apple of your eye is. He’s says, “He’s standing there saying Jesus is his Healer. He’s cancelling his insurance and throwing his medicine away. Just wait until about 3 o’clock in the morning when I wake his wife up and she lays her hand on that little boy and his head is burning up. I’m going to see.” “Brother Willis, do you mean that the devil will attack my kids because I’m taking a stand?” He’ll attack anyone to get them on you to break your stand. You better be ready for it. “But Brother Willis, what’s going to happen?” You just still take your stand. Say, “Devil, you are a liar. That’s my baby and you get your hands off of him in the name of Jesus. He’s healed.” You keep on standing on that Word of God even though it will affect others.
In my family, my girls haven’t had as many attacks because they were younger, but my boys were big enough where the devil could work on them. We found out through deliverance that a lot of the attacks they had were the devil working on them trying to break our confession by accidents and troubles. The devil attacked my wife two or three times, and I mean he literally attacked her. One time she went for about two and a half weeks with her head just racked with pain. I laid hands upon her and said she was healed and two or three days later she was telling me how bad it was hurting again and I said, “You’ve got to be healed because I laid hands upon you.” I then realized it had to be something else. I knew it had to be a spirit. What happened was that some how or another when my wife’s father died and she was there she picked up a stroke spirit and that spirit was in her trying to cause her to have a stroke. It was trying to get her to accept the fact that she had a stroke by that pain shooting through her head. I want to tell you that I laid hands upon her and commanded that stroke spirit to loose her and leave her in the name of Jesus and we got rid of that thing. It was attacking her because I was making some bold confessions. My family has had to go through some things because of me. You may say, “Well, I don’t want my family to go through anything because of me.” Well, don’t get into the faith message and don’t get into victory land. “But Brother Willis, suppose it happens to them.” You stand and God will bring you through with flying colors. He will bring you through. Listen to me, we’re talking about getting you a miracle now. It may not be that rough for you on some things, but I want to tell you that when you get on down the road for some of these big things, you will be ready.
You must realize that you must be prepared for the reaction of people. They are going to get frustrated and angry and come against you, and the troubles are going to get worse. You must be prepared for the effect upon you. It’s going to get hotter on you, and it’s also going to affect those round about you. You are going to find that some people used to like you. The next thing you know your boss may not like you. You used to be on his good side and you were in line for a promotion, but now you may be in line for a demotion. “Brother Willis, what do I do?” You just start confessing that you are a blessing and that your boss’s business is blessed because of you, and God will get you a promotion. He may promote you out the door to another job higher than that one to promote you, but He will promote you if you hold fast to Him.
I read in a paper about a printing company up in Wisconsin that had a lot of men who were printing good, clean literature. This company began printing one of these magazines filled with ungodly material and those men refused to do it. One man had been on the job for twenty-four years and he refused to work on the printing press that ran that literature off and they fired him. The company ended up firing about eight or ten men because they, as men of God, refused to handle the material. One of the men went and filed charges against this company because they were fired because of their religious principles. I don’t agree with that, but I do admire those men for taking their stand. I just wish they had known what I know now. “Brother Willis, what do you know that they didn’t know?” The Bible says that if you give any thing up for the Gospel’s sake God will multiply it back to you a hundredfold now in this time. That man gave up a twenty-four year job to stand upon the Word of God and God says, “You hold fast to Me and I will multiply it back to you a hundredfold now in this time.” If those men would have known this they wouldn’t have filed charges. They would have just left that job and said, “Glory hallelujah, God, I gave up that job for You. I stood upon the Word of God and said I would not handle that filth. I believe Your Word, God, and they fired me. God, they ran me off because I stood for You, and Your Word says if I give anything up for the Gospel You’ll give it back to me a hundredfold now in this time.” You see, they won’t need a job in heaven. That Scripture is for here and now. Listen to me carefully. If you are getting run off for standing for God, you grab Mark 10:29-30 and you say, “Father, I thank You for Your Word. I had to give that job up because I stood for You. That job paid me $10,000 a year and You said You would multiply it back to me a hundredfold now in this time. God, I don’t know what kind of job You’ve got lined up for me, but it has to be a good one for it to be a hundredfold, and I’m going to stand on that Word. I believe that Word.” I want to tell you that if all of God’s men and women would start doing that they would be so prosperous they wouldn’t know what to do. You may say, “Brother Willis, I can’t believe it.” Don’t tell me that. Listen, if Jesus lied right there He may have lied about heaven. He may not have a mansion for you. You may have a shack. It may not even be there. You see, you like to believe that sweet by and by stuff, that pie in the sky. “Oh, I just like to think about heaven and no more worry.” He says something about down here. Some people think that’s a different situation. Do you know why you think that? You’ve been programmed by the world not to believe this Word. The programming and training of the whole world’s economical and social system has been to train human beings not to accept the Word of God. But God is renewing His people’s minds today to believe the Word of God above the whole social and economical system of the world. That’s what God is doing today. Everything you and I have been taught by the world has been to bring us against the Word of God and not to accept it today. Most of our churches today have taken the Word and diluted it and watered it down, but God will not let it be watered down. God is always going to have Him some men and women that will stand upon it and say, “I believe God. I believe His Word.” I want to tell you that His Word is true. I can’t help it if you don’t understand and accept it. It doesn’t make a bit of difference. It’s just as true and real whether you believe it or not. It works for those who believe it, and I believe it. That’s why it works for me. I believe what He says. This is what we are talking about in victory over the impossible. That man or woman who says, “It doesn’t matter what the world says. It doesn’t matter what the situation or problem says. It doesn’t matter what daddy, or mama, or the boss, or Aunt Susie, or Uncle Johnny says. It doesn’t matter what anybody says, I believe what God says.” That’s the kind of man and woman that God’s power begins to move for. He hears their prayers and the supernatural power of the supernatural God begins to move and bring things about for them.
I believe the Word of God, and when I say that the devil and the demons of hell stick their fingers in their ears. They burn and it makes them angry. It makes them mad and they say, “I’ve got to stop that man. I’ve got to stop that woman. They believe God’s Word. They believe God’s Word above everything.” You see, if he can’t stop them the next thing you know they will contaminate someone else with the same thing. I hope you get contaminated with it. I want to contaminate you with the fact that the eternal Word of the eternal God is true. It doesn’t matter what anybody says. They just try to water it down or dilute it and that’s not God.
I want to tell you that everything about these three men must have said, “Don’t say that. Don’t you tell that king that your God is able to do anything. Don’t you tell that king that God is going to get you out of that furnace. Don’t you tell that king that you are not going to serve his gods.” The devil says “Don’t you tell that boss you’re not going to handle that old filthy paper.” Oh, brothers and sisters, you tell them what God says and God will stand behind you and back you up all the way just like He always has for every man and every woman of God. These boys were not any different from you and me. The devil worked upon them. The devil told them how hot the furnace was. The king got mad at them and the devil said, “Listen, if you say that the king will get mad at you.” A lot of folks have gotten mad at me because I say God’s Word is true and I believe it. I just pray for them because they have the problem, not me. They are mad, I am glad. I’m not glad because they’re mad at me, but I’m just glad because the Word of God is true.
All I can say is that God’s Word is true. “But Brother Willis, my mind can’t see it that way, and my feelings don’t feel that way.” Well, get your mind and your feelings in line with the Word of God. “But Brother Willis, my church doesn’t teach that way.” Well, get your church in line with the Word of God or get out and get somewhere where they do teach it. That’s all I can say.
Chapter VI
KNOW THE OUTCOME
When a man or woman will confess God’s Word and say that God will do it for them and will take their stand, knowing that the reaction is going to be rough, they also know the outcome. They know that if they hold fast to the Word of God that He will honor the word of the man or woman that stands upon His Word. Verse 21 says that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the furnace after it had been heated seven times hotter than it usually was. The old king walked up to the door of the furnace and he looked in there and said, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men…and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” When you stand upon the Word of God you can be assured that the Son of God is with you, the Father is with you, and the Holy Spirit is with you. You always have the presence of God. You may be in the furnace because you stand for God’s Word. The pressures, the world, your family, your work, and socially people may come against you, but I’m going to tell you, there’s One right there with you. Hebrews 13:5 says, “…I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” You always have the presence of God, and you can be in a hot furnace with God and be cool as a cucumber. You see, these boys believed God. You know the devil must have told them, “Listen, fellows, the minute you hit that fire you’re going to be dead.” You know the old devil said, “Listen, fellows, you’ve put your hand on a candle before and just let it burn you, just think how your whole body is going to feel when you get in that thing.” Can’t you imagine that the devil used this opportunity to work on these fellows with fear, telling them how their flesh was going to just crinkle up. He probably brought to their memory somebody they had seen burn before. But those old boys were believing God. Therefore, they had the presence of the Lord.
Now we see the power of God. Verse 25 says the king looked in and he said, “I see four men loose, walking.” That’s action. They were not sitting down. I would have been walking too. They were going on in the midst of the fire. Most people, when they get in a hot place, that’s when they stop. When I get in the midst of the fire I know that God is with me, and that He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world, and I just start walking and praising God. I know there is a way out. “Where is it, Brother Willis?” I don’t know, but I guarantee you if you just keep walking with the Lord in the midst of that problem, praising Him, the next thing you know you’ll say, “Well, I didn’t see that door.” God says, “It wasn’t there.” “How did that happen?” God says, “I just moved it around and opened that door for you.” Listen to me, you hold to God’s Word and He will make you a way of escape. He wanted to destroy the world but He made a way of escape for His people. He had them build a boat like there had never been built before and He floated that thing right up in the middle of nowhere. Just go through the Bible. He always made a way of escape for His people and He still does. Isaiah 43:1-3 says that when you pass through the rivers, and waters, and fire, I will be with you for I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel. I will not leave thee. I will not forsake thee. Dear Christian friends, you can stand against the impossible because you know that the presence, and power, and protection of God is with you because He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world. The Scripture says in Daniel 3:35, “They have no hurt.” This is contrary to the senses. It was contrary to everything those men knew and had been taught, and contrary to everything the king knew. They were in the midst of a fiery furnace and had no hurt, walking around. Brothers and sisters, when you stand upon the Word of God against impossible situations you’ll look like you are going to be hurt and fall. You will look like there is no way out, but if you’ll stand on God you’ll come to no hurt. You may say, “Well, Brother Willis, I’m hurt now.” No, you’re not hurt. The devil is just telling you you are hurt. He is trying to shake you and get you discouraged. Dear Christian friends, Jesus will take care of you. He will protect you. The Bible says in Psalm 91 that the angels of the Lord encampeth round about His people and no evil shall befall them. You can realize and know the protection of God is always with you. I’ve seen times when it looked like everything had to burst. It looked like there was no way. I want to tell you, brothers and sisters, all God has done is to bless us.
Another thing that comes out of this is recognition. The old king got angry with them, but when he looked in that furnace and saw four of them in there he cried out, “Ye servants of the most high God, come forth.” Now, a lot of people talk about us who stand upon the Word of God, but I want to tell you that they recognize that we are here and that we are here to stay. Brothers and sisters, when you stand upon God’s Word it stirs things up and people recognize that you are the servant of God. Now they may laugh at you, and ridicule you, and mock you, but when mama, daddy, or their son is sick they’ll ease up to you and say, “Hey, how about praying for my mama, or daddy, or son.” They may ridicule you at the job, but when they have a need they will walk up to you.
What came as a result of these boys in the furnace? Because they got victory over the impossible, the king made a decree. He said, “Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.” As God’s people continue to get victory over the impossible people are going to begin to talk about it. They will say, “When those people pray for someone they get healed. When they lay hands upon somebody whose mind is bound up with fear they get free.”
The 30th verse says, “Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.” I want to tell you, the spiritual king had already promoted those boys. When you get promoted with the Father, don’t you worry, the promotions will come down here. He will make what is down here line up with what He has done up there. Those old boys stood on the Word of God and confessed that God was able. They confessed that God was going to deliver them. They said, “We will not serve thy gods,” and the king got angry and heated the furnace seven times hotter. He threw them into the furnace and it affected others, even those who threw them in got killed. But glory hallelujah, the king looked in there and said, “Lo, I see four. We threw three in there but I see four walking around in the midst of the fire. They are not hurt. Hey, boys come here. I want to know some more about your God, because I’ve never known a god that can do like that.” When God’s people begin to get victories people are going to want to know about your God. They are going to say, “Who is your God. Where did you get that car from? Where did you get that peace from? Where did you get that victory from? Where did you get that healing from?” You’ll say, “We get it from Jesus.” They are going to say, “Tell me about it.” The king called them out and promoted them. But when he saw the fourth one in there walking around with them is when he really promoted them. He promoted them while they were in the furnace giving God glory and honor. Jesus said, “Hey fellows, you’re promoted. When everything was against you you stood. I’m promoting you. I’m going to send you back out there as a testimony.” We want to see you get healed, saved, filled with the Holy Ghost, free from fear, frustration, worry, or whatever your problem is so that you can go back out there and be a testimony. Jesus has already promoted many of you spiritually. Many of you have been standing on the Word of God and you’ve already had your spiritual promotion. God has already blessed you because you have stood through some tough things. You just keep standing and the next thing you know the outside world is going to promote you too. God is going to bless you for it.
