Brother Randy was a great friend to all of us. We all share many stories from playing softball, golf, fixing cars, performing weddings, hospital visits, home projects, speeding tickets, and the list goes on… Most importantly we have stories of how he was the hands and feet of Christ. Randy carried out both his earthly father and heavenly fathers work. He continued the work Rev. Elbert Willis started by filling the gap, telling the untold, teaching the untaught and training the untrained. What a great example of shining the light for Jesus. Randy took it to another level by fulfilling the mission statement printed on every item of correspondence that Fill the Gap published; “Compassion in Action”. Randy loved to preach on the book of Galatians. The “Manifesto of Grace”. In Galatians 6:10 is reads “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us go good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” It doesn’t say when we feel like it or only on Sunday, when it’s not raining, when you can afford it. As we have opportunity… There is opportunity all around us we just need to open our eyes and take of the blinders to the world around us. Randy wasn’t a wealthy man on earth however his treasures are now plentiful in heaven. It’s hard to collect wealth when you’re continuously doing good and fulfilling needs. The World is hurting and Randy fulfilled the call. We should all follow his example, continually seeking opportunities to do good…
