I will deliver this vast army into your hands, and you will know that I am the Lord. I Kings 20:28 (NTV)
The twentieth chapter of I Kings tells the story of King Ahab’s war with the Syrian king, Benhadad, Syria*s army greatly outnumbered the Israelites, but Ahab’s smaller force surprised the Syrians and defeated than.
The following year, Benhadad again gathered a large army against the Israelites, This time he chose a different strategy. His servants had told him that the Israelites* God was a God of the hills. So he decided if he fought the Israelites in the valley, he would surely win.
Benhadad gathered his troops in a valley near Aphek, Again the Israeli the were greatly outnumbered. But God had promised to give than the victory…
He did] The Israelites routed the Syrians and they were forced to flee. Benhadad had underestimated the power of the Lord. He isn’t just a God of the hills; He is a God of the valley as well.
Many people lose battles for the same reason as Benhadad. They limit the power of God to one set of circumstances, one time period, or one area of life.. But God is the God of every situation. He will be with us no matter where we are or what we are going through. When we take the limits off God, we can experience great victory.
